What was the highlight of Moon Dreams Yum Balam
Wonderful cosy hotel close to beach, with clean spacious rooms and a relaxing terrace to unwind.
Clean spacious rooms, only seconds away from the beach and restaurants. Friendly & helpful staff & front desk. Lovely terrace and space to relax.
Breakfast was nice & authentic but could have more variety especially if you stay for more than 2 days

Location was great, facilities were ok, but not a kids friendly hotel.
Great location. 2 blocks from central plaza. The room was ok for eco tourism.
Breakfast buffet is ridiculously. Beans, sausage and ham with peas, all with onions. Every day for 3 days. Eggs was extra and yogurt, bread and nutella was the only option for kids breakfast. The place is not kids friendly at all. And due to a power outage my husband was left without water while taking a bath and all soap up for more than 20 minutes. The staff did not even acknowledge the problem that my husband passed.

Location good, close to the beach and town however also...
Location good, close to the beach and town however also close to a club. Shower had hot water and was powerful, unlike other places we have stayed in Mexico. Room was clean and fresh bedding and towels were provided every day.
Lots of noise coming from a nearby club. Breakfast could have healthier or more vegetarian options. The tour offered by the hotel didn't seem very exciting and involved going back to the mainland. Needless to say we didn't do that one, however it would have been good if they could recommend other tours to do and companies to do it with. For example an ethical company to do the whale shark snorkeling.

The staff was horrible here!
The staff was horrible here!!! They got irritated and acted as though I was inconveniencing their day when I sad that my bed was covered in either dirt or insects, and this was right after we checked in. No one ever said hi or how your day was going, actually most of the time they weren't at the front or were sleeping. We got yelled at one early morning that we needed to pay even though we had already tried paying but their internet was down so we couldnt, and we weren't even checking out that morning!!! Then when we actually checked out they tried to charged us about $2500 pesos more than what we were supposed to pay - I had to make the guy find our original receipt with the accurate price on it.
